Google Chromebook Pixel

Google unveiled its latest Chromebook, the Pixel. When they first launch the Chromebook it was suppose to be cheap and disposable, for students that don't have a lot of disposable cash. Today they are taking a different stance, offering a notebook that can go toe to toe with Apple's MacBook Pro Retina.

The Pixel offers a 13 inch screen with 2560 x 1700 resolution, according to Google, the highest resolution ever shipped on a laptop. It packs in an i5 processor, Intel HD 4000 graphics and 4GB of Ram. The design is definitely inspired by Apple's offering, and even at a glance you can tell it's a premium product.

At $1299 and with the 13 inch MacBook Pro with Retina starting at just $1499, can they compete?
